The Lawrence County Arts Council will host a
Watercolor
Workshop
Thursday, May 26th
at the Educational Building,
start time 10:00 a.m.,
Instructor Maureen Dosier. The class is open to all ages and skill levels from the beginners to the seasoned painters. There will be a wide variety of watercolor supplies (a new shipment just arrived) available for sale at deep discount prices.
LCAC has a special project for watercolor students
interested in painting scenes of old Louisa for a future fundraising program.
The Lawrence County Arts Council is sponsoring it's annual
Photography Contest
Saturday, May 28th,
time 11:00 a.m. to 12
noon
at the Lawrence County Library.
The Photography Contest is opened to all ages. You still have some time to start taking pictures or going through your favorite photos, entries are opened to all categories (people/animals, places/landscapes and floral/fauna)they must be matted and/or framed. Please submit an I.D. label on the back of each piece of artwork entered, including your name, phone number and A for adult entries and for students include your age, school, and grade level. If you're planning an out of town trip for the holiday weekend, entries can be submitted to the Lawrence County Library prior to May 28th. All entries will be included in the exhibit for the public to enjoy, Winners will be displayed with their ribbons attached and will be announced the following week in the Big Sandy News and on Lycom Cable channel 15, courtesy of R & R Communications.
